NO CHANGES FROM PRIOR WEEK. HAYS HOUSE REMAINS IN CONTINGENCY STANDARDS

Dear Idaho Youth Ranch Colleagues,

This continues our weekly communication about COVID protocols in Programs locations based on CDC’s guidance for healthcare settings. If you have any questions, please ask your supervisor or HR.

Hands of Promise

1.     If you develop any COVID symptoms, test positive for COVID, or have been in close contact with someone who has COVID, inform your supervisor and follow the instructions of HR.

2.     Clients and their families must wear masks indoors (not applicable to HOP arena).

3.     IYR staff must wear masks indoors, subject to these two exceptions:

a.     Fully vaccinated staff who are (i) up to date on their vaccine and (ii) cleared by HR can meet in private, enclosed areas like offices and meeting rooms without masks or physical distancing. However, if any unvaccinated staff are present, everyone must wear masks and unvaccinated staff must maintain physical distance.

b.     Therapists may remove their mask during a therapy session if they determine that wearing the mask will significantly interfere with the effectiveness of their engagement with the client AND they maintain at least 6 feet of distance when unmasked.

Hays House

The “Transmission level” for Ada County has returned to High per the CDC. This is different from the “Community Level” metric that applies to the general public. Because of this, Hays’ Contingency Standards and the following requirements apply:

Masking for Residents: Medical Facemask provided daily, recommended but not required indoors; Facemask required in youth transport.

Masking for Staff/Visitors: N95 or KN95 mask required indoors and in youth transport.

Screening: All Staff and Visitors must be screened for symptoms and exposures when first entering the residence. Residents must be screened upon admission and twice daily.

Work Restrictions: If staff screen positive for symptoms with no known exposure or confirmed positive test, they may return to work after testing negative with rapid viral testing according to manufacturer instructions.

NOTE: some manufacturers instruct using 2 tests 24-48 hours apart to consider a negative test to be valid. If staff does not get tested, the IYR return to work rules for non-programs staff apply.
