The Idaho Youth Ranch offers an excellent comprehensive benefit plan, including medical insurance, a prescription card, and dental reimbursement after a 30-day waiting period. Our benefits package also allows generous leave time, educational assistance, a cafeteria plan, supplemental insurance coverage, a tax-deferred retirement program, and substantial discounts at any of our many thrift store locations.
The Idaho Youth Ranch provides affordable medical insurance coverage to employees and their families. The medical insurance is currently provided through the Blue Cross Preferred Provider Organization (PPO). The deductible for this insurance is $500 per person. After reaching the deductible, employees pay 20% of the contracted cost of in-network care. For out-of-network care, employees pay 40% of the billed cost. The insurance plan includes a $25 dollar co-pay for physician office visits, and an accident benefit of $300 per year. For the first year of employment, IYR pays approximately ½ of the premium for the individual employee or the employee’s family. After one year of employment, IYR pays the entire premium for a single employee, or approximately ½ of the employee’s family premium. Employees can pay their share of premiums with pre-tax dollars through the IYR Cafeteria Plan.
Employees enrolled in the IYR Medical Health Insurance Program pay $10 for each generic prescription and $25 for each brand name prescription.
Employees have the opportunity to purchase supplemental insurance products such as life insurance, disability insurance, cancer insurance, and accident insurance. The premiums for some of these products can be paid using pre-tax dollars through the IYR Cafeteria Plan.
Employees can pay their share of their medical insurance premiums using pre-tax dollars through the IYR Cafeteria Plan. This benefit has the effect of lowering employees’ taxable income. It is also available for the premiums employees pay for some of the supplemental insurance coverage described immediately above. The IYR also offers a flexible spending account to employees after one year of employment to use pre-tax dollars for eligible medical expenses up to $3,600. In addition to the the health care flexible spending account, IYR offers a dependent care account for all employees to use for daycare expenses for eligible dependents. The annual maximum per year is $5,000.
IYR reimburses employees for a portion of the cost of most normal dental services. After a 30 day waiting period, first year employees are reimbursed 50% of the cost of general dental services (oral exams and cleaning, dental x-rays, oral surgery, extractions, fillings, inlays, and anesthetics) and 30% for prosthodontic services (dentures, crowns, and bridgework). After the first year of employment, the reimbursement percentages increase to 70% and 50%, respectively. The maximum benefit that will be paid in any one year period is $1,000.
Employees have the opportunity to purchase voluntary dental insurance for themselves and their eligible dependents. IYR has contracted with Broker's National to provide additional insurance at an affordable cost to employees. Employees may see any dental provider. There is no deductible for preventive care and no deductible with coverage at 100%. Basic and Major Services are covered at 80% and subject to a $50 deductible. The premium for this coverage can be paid by using pre-tax dollars through the IYR Cafeteria Plan.
Employees have the opportunity to purchase voluntary vision insurance for themselves and their eligible dependents. IYR has contracted with VSP to provide additional insurance at an affordable cost to employees. There is a $15 co-payment for eye exams and a $25 co-payment for materials through a VSP provider. The premium for this coverage can be paid by using pre-tax dollars through the IYR Cafeteria Plan.
Employees enrolled in the IYR Medical Insurance Plan are eligible to participate in the EAP Program to receive professional counseling services.
Employees may participate in the IYR 403(b) Retirement Plan. Through this tax-deferred plan, employees may invest a portion of their salary to save and invest in their retirement. The employee’s money, along with any matching contributions made by IYR, is invested in accordance with the employee’s desires. Employees can begin making contributions to the plan from their salary immediately upon hiring. After one year of employment, IYR will begin matching the employee’s contributions in specified amounts. After one year the maximum IYR match is 3% of the employee’s salary. After two years the IYR match is 4%, after three years 5%, after four years 6%, and after five years a maximum of 7%, continuing at that level through the duration of the employee’s participation in the plan.
Employees are eligible to receive financial assistance from the Idaho Youth Ranch to help further their education in fields related to their work responsibilities.
Employees earn paid vacation at rates related to their specific positions and longevity.
Employees earn the benefit of paid sick leave at the rate of eight hours per month.
IYR recognizes seven paid holidays throughout the year. Employees unable to take those holidays due to the need to keep IYR treatment programs operating seven days each week throughout the year earn paid vacation at an accelerated rate.
