Hays House provides a stable and supportive place for youth who don't have a safe place to call home. Your donation will provide the support, structure, and healing for those who have nowhere to turn.
Personal Items
Often times, the circumstances in which youth arrive at Hays House are difficult. Without a stable home, kids rarely have many belongings of their own. When provided with some of their basic needs like personal care items and their own pillow, kids begin to feel like they matter. Something many take for granted– like enough socks for the week – becomes a small token that reminds them of the love, care, and healing they deserve.

Games & Electronics
Creating a comfortable and stable home-like environment is crucial for the youth at Hays House. Many of the kids have lived in a stressful, near-constant survival mode. Providing items such as Nintendo Switch consoles and video games give the kids a chance to unwind with each other—and the chance to just be a kid. From card games with peers to decompressing with their favorite music on Bluetooth headphones, kids get the opportunity to begin feeling safe, supported, and at ease.

Hays House is a Safe Place
If you are having problems at home, suffering from abuse or neglect, lost or in some dangerous situation, with a drunk or unsafe driver, or just need to talk about a problem, the nearest Safe Place site can connect you directly with resources to help.
To find a Safe Place site, just look for the yellow and black diamond-shaped signs on local businesses, schools, fire stations, and more. Let an employee know you need help and they'll get you connected with help right away. Learn more about Safe Place.
