Idaho Youth Ranch operates across multiple clinical environments, each with its own pace, population, and professional rewards. Most clinicians find their best fit in one setting, but the variety means your career can evolve without leaving the organization.
Community Outpatient Offices
Traditional therapy environment in Boise, the Nampa/Caldwell area, and Coeur d’Alene, with Virtual Therapy available statewide. You will carry a caseload of youth and families, work with a broad range of presentations, and have the autonomy and consistency of outpatient practice, backed by an organization that handles the administrative weight so you can focus on clinical work. Roles in this setting: Outpatient Therapist.
Residential Center for Healing & Resilience (RCH&R)
A 64-bed psychiatric residential treatment facility (PRTF) on the 258-acre Hands of Promise Campus in Idaho’s Treasure Valley. You will work alongside therapists, nurses, case managers, and youth care staff in an immersive, team-based environment. The clinical presentations are complex (trauma histories, mood disorders, attachment disruption) and the interdisciplinary collaboration is genuine. Roles in this setting: Residential Therapist, Registered Nurse, Clinical Leadership.
Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy Program
Idaho’s only EAGALA-model Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy program, based at the Caldwell campus. You will co-facilitate sessions with an equine specialist and a herd of therapy horses, working with youth who may not respond to traditional talk therapy. Paid EAGALA training is provided.
