Clinical Supervisor at Idaho Youth Ranch is a senior leadership role for an experienced clinician who is ready to invest their expertise in the development of others. You'll provide clinical and operational supervision to a team of therapists, ensure the program operates at the standard of care Idaho Youth Ranch's mission requires, and work directly with the Clinical Director to coordinate treatment activities across the program.
This role carries real scope: clinical, operational, administrative, and relational. It asks for a clinician who understands that supervision at this level is its own distinct discipline, who has the organizational skills to manage multiple moving parts simultaneously, and who finds genuine meaning in the professional growth of the people they lead.
The work, honestly described
The Clinical Supervisor at Idaho Youth Ranch's Residential Center for Healing and Resilience is responsible for the clinical and operational supervision of therapists. Ensuring they are delivering care that meets agency standards, adhering to evidence-based treatment models, completing documentation requirements, and developing professionally in a setting that asks a great deal of its clinical staff.
The scope of this role is wider than the title suggests. Beyond direct clinical supervision, you'll be involved in hiring and onboarding therapists in conjunction with the Clinical Director, budget monitoring for your department, oversight of the equine therapy program, facility and grounds standards, Continuous Quality Improvement participation, and community and stakeholder communication. This is not a role for someone who wants to supervise and stay narrowly within a clinical lane.

What you're responsible for
Clinical Supervision
- Provide weekly documented individual supervision to each therapist on your team
- Ensure therapists are meeting with youth and families as planned and delivering care consistent with treatment standards
- Ensure consultation, training, certification, and implementation of identified evidence-based treatment models occurs as required
- Set up and facilitate therapist collaboration meetings
- Maintain certifications in treatment modalities used in the residential setting. Model clinical excellence for the therapist team
- May provide direct clinical services to youth and families based on program needs
Operational and Administrative Supervision
- Hire, onboard, and evaluate therapists in conjunction with the Clinical Director
- Monitor progress notes, service plans, and progress reports for timeliness and quality. Assess, document, and report as required
- Ensure therapist timeliness, follow-through, and conduct meets Idaho Youth Ranch's standards and values
- Monitor departmental spending and participate in budget development and management
- Ensure all staff documentation is entered accurately and on time into the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
- Maintain personnel and program services documentation as required by agency and contract guidelines
Program and Clinical Quality
- Work with the Clinical Director to coordinate treatment activities across the program
- Achieve transparency by collaborating fully with the clinical team to meet clinical standards of practice
- Ensure agency policies and procedures are adhered to across the therapist team
- Actively participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) meetings
- Ensure the equine therapy program and equine activities operate as intended within the clinical framework
- Ensure equipment and therapeutic supplies are functioning. Advocate for repairs and replacements as needed
Team and Community Relationships
- Collaborate with outpatient supervisors and program managers within the community and Idaho Youth Ranch
- Ensure therapist participation and attendance at Child and Family Team (CFT) meetings and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Support the community's, families', and Idaho Youth Ranch employees' understanding of the Residential Center program and Idaho Youth Ranch's mission and values
- Work closely with and support the efforts of Program Leadership and the Clinical Director
- Actively promote a trauma-informed care mindset of accountability and responsibility across the clinical team
Facility Standards
- Ensure the facility and grounds are maintained to a high standard at all times
- Promote a shared mindset with all staff around maintaining a campus that is clean, orderly, and therapeutically appropriate

Reports To: Clinical Director
The Clinical Supervisor reports to the Clinical Director, who holds ultimate responsibility for the clinical program at the Residential Center. You'll work closely with the Clinical Director on therapist hiring, program coordination, treatment standards, and the ongoing development of clinical culture. This is a collaborative relationship that requires both independent judgment and clear upward communication.
Directly Supervises: Therapist Team
Your primary leadership responsibility is the therapist team: providing weekly individual supervision, holding clinical standards, supporting professional development, and creating the kind of supervisory environment where therapists can grow. The quality of your supervision directly shapes the quality of care delivered to the youth and families Idaho Youth Ranch serves.
Collaborates With: Full Interdisciplinary Team
The Clinical Supervisor works across the full Residential Center team: nursing, case managers, residential care staff, the equine program, and program leadership. You're not operating within a clinical silo. You're a senior presence in the program whose influence extends across disciplines and into the operational culture of the residential environment.
Engages With: Community and External Stakeholders
The Clinical Supervisor plays an active role in Idaho Youth Ranch's relationships with community partners, referral sources, contract agencies, and the families of youth in the program. Representing the program's clinical standards and mission to external audiences is part of the role.

What to expect
Schedule
Primarily standard business hours. On-call responsibilities are part of the role. Occasional work during other shifts to observe program operations or respond to crisis situations. Occasional overnight travel for organizational meetings and training.

What we're looking for
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in a human services field: social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, counseling, or closely related field
- Current Idaho licensure at a level that permits clinical supervision of others (e.g., LCSW, LCPC-S, or PSY D.)
- Minimum 8 years of experience in a related clinical field
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory or management experience
- Must be at least 25 years of age
- Valid Idaho driver's license, or ability to obtain within 15 days of hire
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple operational and clinical responsibilities simultaneously
- Willingness to obtain required specialized training: CPR, First Aid, Crisis Intervention, Crisis and Suicide Risk Management, and CPS protocols
- Willingness to be trained, certified, and maintain certification in treatment modalities used in the residential setting
- Availability for on-call responsibilities and occasional off-hours coverage
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with IDAPA rules and Joint Commission standards in a PRTF setting
- Experience formulating and managing a program budget within established accounting guidelines
- Established relationships with community and contract agencies in the behavioral health field
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Knowledge of physical property maintenance standards in a residential or clinical facility
