Treatment Paths : Hays House

Leaving a light on.

For Idaho kids on the edge, on the streets, and on their own. Ages 9 to 18.

Idaho Youth Ranch's Hays House is the Treasure Valley's only 24-hour shelter for runaway and homeless youth. With your generous donation to the Idaho Youth Ranch, you are part of the promise for safety to kids facing homelessness and abuse.

  • There are an estimated 4,500 homeless children in Treasure Valley school districts.
  • 46 percent of runaway and homeless youth reported physical abuse, 38 percent reported emotional abuse, and 17 percent reported forced, unwanted sexual activity by a family or household member.
  • 75 percent of runaway and homeless youth drop out of high school.

Avenues for Hope

Your donation does more than give these children a safe place to sleep. It provides a supporting and caring environment where they are safe, can go to school and heal from the trauma that led them to homelessness in the first place.

When hope seems lost, we leave a light on. Hays House is here for kids who are runaways, homeless, or victims of abuse or neglect, with a safe place to stay, no matter what, no matter when.

Hays House gives kids a safe, supportive, caring, stable place to live while we help them find their way forward. Our support services include life-skills classes, strength-based family and individual counseling from a master’s level clinician, structured education, and community-based recreation. Hays House also provides access to an accredited academic program for grades 9 to 12 that includes GED instruction and testing.

All in the family.

Services and referrals are also available to parents who need help addressing problems that disrupt a healthy home, including conflict, running away, homelessness, school problems, neglect or abandonment, poor communication, and illegal behavior.

Emergency Help Line.

The only help line for Treasure Valley kids that is on-call and available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Call 208-322-6687 or toll-free at 877-805-2308
