The Endowment exists solely to support, promote, and advance the charitable and educational purposes of the Idaho Youth Ranch (founded in 1953). The affairs of the Endowment are under the watchful eye of an Investment Committee. The Committee’s fiduciary role is to provide oversight of all financial and investment activities, and to monitor IYR Board designated and permanently endowed contributions through a variety of planned gifts.
The Endowment fund is invested following a carefully considered, conservative Investment Policy designed to further the IYR’s mission, and to assure the long-term financial security of the Youth Ranch.
The Endowment Fund continues to grow as more individuals join the Bridge Builder Legacy Society. Bridge Builders are generous supporters who have included the IYR in their estate plan through a will, trust, gift annuity, life insurance policy or other planned gift. All estate gifts, unless otherwise directed, are placed into our Endowment where they will support IYR's programs and services in perpetuity.
In addition, all Honor and Memorial gifts are placed in our Endowment, and only the annual income generated by the Endowment is used for our programs.
Here is what a few of our Bridge Builder Legacy members have to say:
“I like to think that when the time comes, the spirit of my bequest will deliver a comforting message of hope to a family in need – from my heart and those children I never had.” Sandee
“Children are a big part of our lives. The Idaho Youth Ranch offers so many programs designed to help young people and their families. Support from all of us is vital if they are going to continue with the caring guidance of those in need.” Virginia
“It was Reverend Crowe who encouraged me to pursue a social work degree. His guidance led me to a satisfying 28 year career as a youth rehabilitation worker.” Bob
“I feel like I have invested in the Ranch. It’s more than a charity. Just as the Youth Ranch needs its supporters, the supporters need the Ranch. We all would be diminished if we didn’t have an organization like the Ranch to support.” Jane
