Controller

Position Purpose

Responsible for the direction and management of all accounting and financial reporting required to produce complete, accurate and timely financial statements, analysis, and other reporting and financial compliance needs while ensuring that these are supported by well organized documentation. The Controller provides leadership and coordination in the accounting, budgeting and auditing efforts of Idaho Youth Ranch.

  1. • Prepares reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, earnings, assets and liabilities based on past, present, and expected operations.
  2. Directs preparation of budgets for grant writing
  3. Directs determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets
  4. Coordinates and facilitates audits of agency records
  5. Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies
  6. Coordinates the month-end, year-end closing process
  7. Generates the company financial statements
  8. Manages the Accounting/Finance departments which includes Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Fixed Assets, Inventory, and all financial compliance reporting
  9. Job Requirements

    1. A bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
    2. CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) preferred
    3. Two or more years experience as a Controller or in a similar accounting position.
    4. Experience in direct management of personnel
    5. Ability to analyze and synthesize information
    6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
